Sunset Sunrise

Last weekend I was so disappointed because I was booked on the boat to go to the  Copeland Bird Observatory Island (last trip of the year) and it had to be cancelled at the last minute because the boat had a broken down.  So I decided to go down to my 'old caravan' at Whiterock, County Down to cut the grass.  It was such a fantastic day I decided to stay overnight.  The first 7 shots are the sunset, the next 2 are just before the sun comes up  and taken from my bed and the last photos are the actual sunrise.

I hope you enjoyed these shots, not the best in the world however it did my heart good seeing them for real and it made up (well nearly) for missing my weekend on Copeland Island.

Thank you for visiting and over the next few day, I will be showing you photographs taken on my journey down to the caravan and also more while I was staying there.

  1. Wow. What a dramatic dawn. Our dawns are usually much more muted than that - soft pinks and greys (galah colours).

  13. Hmmm.....how shall I put this? I've had similar experiences that cause this "disappointment" feeling. I've learned to find the positive in those experiences just like you have with those gorgeous sun shots. One of those treks earned me a beautiful sunset which was later sold to a local business. The silver lining:)

Speaking of sunsets, when we were sailing on the Schooner Alliance in Yorktown, Virginia, we got some awesome sunset photos.
