In Ward Park we have aviaries that have mostly more exotic birds and quite a number of them I do not know their names, however I am hoping as this post reaches a good part of the world that someone will know what they are called. Now I had to try and photograph through 1" square wire so these are the best I could do for now.
Golden Pheasant
Silver Pheasant
Cockatiel
Eastern Rosella
Cockatiel
Reeves Pheasant
Peacock
Hens
There were quite a number of other smaller birds however they moved around to quickly for me to get any shots of them. I hoped you enjoyed looking at these birds although I know as bird watchers we wish they were left in the wild.
Thanks you for visiting.
I so enjoyed this post!!! That one pheasant, at the very beginning, is striking!

DeleteMargaret, this is my sort of birding. I found a private collection of birds near Milton Keynes and took Trevor and Keith. I forgot to tell them as we were entering the enclosure that the Reeves Pheasant was called ASBO. Keith found out why.

DeleteThe diversity of pheasants is astounding, and I assume it was without the help of breeders. I agree the it is so much better to see them in the wild, despite the inconvenience of looking for them.

DeleteWe visited a refuge for exotic birds last summer, so I know what you mean, trying to shoot through the wire. They did offer a small opening for photographers if they paid a little extra. I think it would be well worth it if we go back again. That golden pheasant steals the show.
