THROUGH MY LENS - Sculputes by Kieran Tuohy - DARK SHADOWS

Like the Part 1 and Part 2 of the posts I showed you last week about the Irish Workhouse in Portumna, Co Galway, I also found these Bog Oak sculptures of Kieran Tuohy extremely moving.
I am linking with THROUGH MY LENS.

  4. They are so suitable for this very sad place! They look like people who are defeated and have lost all hope.

  5. Oh the statues are wonderful and without preaching call attention to the sorrow....the family heading to the poorhouse brought tears to my eyes ...knowing they would be separated probably forever...and the parallels with what is happening here in the USA Today....we USED to be a welcoming country where people at least had a chance. It breaks my heart that we have gone so backwards.
