Good Fences - Blessingbourne House- Part 1

In April, the West Church walking group went to Sligo, Ireland for the weekend and on the way we had lunch at Blessingbourne House and afterwards walked around the grounds.  These photographs are the first part of that outing and as there are a lot of shots, I suggest you put them into slide mode and just enjoy them.

Blessingbourne House is a large Elizabethan style manor-house situated in parkland near Fivemiletown in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The present house was designed by Frederick Pepys Cockerell and constructed between 1870 and 1874.  CLICK HERE for their web site.

Disused and well hidden from sight behind fences.

I have a very short video which can be access at

http://youtu.be/5Fur6ZMRLgQ

If there is a black space below, click it and the video will appear.

I hope you enjoyed the walk around the grounds at Blessingbourne House.

Tomorrow I will continue and show you
part 2 under Weekend Reflections and
on Saturday, part 3 under Saturday Critters.

  1. Amazingly beautiful countryside. Those houses look magnificent, and the animals roam freely and happily which is so nice to see.

  15. I love seeing this wonderful picture of YOU, what a nice surprise! And such a good name for this manor house. Is it occupied? There are all the animals, but then also unused things. Maybe it is owned by government just for tours? It must have been a fortress because of the cannon. I love your perfect picture of the white cows head, the cat shots, the pink flowers, the gorgeous moss covered limbs. What ARE the little blue flowers?
