Sunrise Over Scotland

At last I am sharing my photographs from Scotland.  It was an early start for me, 4.00am!!  We caught the ferry in Larne and heading for Cairnryan.  After a good breakfast we headed on deck to see what birds we could see as the sun rose.  During the crossing of 21/4 hours we saw 17 Species of bird which included Black headed, Herring and Common Gull. Kittiwake, Fulmar, Gannet, Shag, Cormorant, Razorbill, Black and Common Guillemot, some rafts of Eider, Great Crested Grebe and Hooded Crow, however we were delighted to see 20 Red throated Divers and 1 Great Northern Diver. 

I only managed to photograph a Fulmar but it was not got enough to add here so I am  sharing with you the shots I took of the sunrise so  sit back and enjoy.

    beautiful sunrise photos! I was thrilled to see a couple of red throated divers (from a distance) when we were on Skye last year. First time I'd seen one. We've booked to go to Bass Rock in June to photograph gannets feeding and can't wait - hoping to see ospreys while we're up there too fingers crossed! Will you be posting more pics from your trip

    Awesome sunrise. I'm afraid I wouldn't have been able to do the boat ride..I get motion sickness so badly. But what a view you had!!
