Birds and Binstead Beach

I am still posting my photographs from the Isle of Wight and this time it is the turn of a walk on Binstead Beach which was the closest one to my daughters home.  I am told that a lot of the vertical planks of wood are from the old sea wall.  I loved the textures against the blue skies and I hope there will be some that you like also.  At the end I slotted in a few of Charlie, the dog, as he was always with me and that is why the birds were at a bit of a distance when I photographed them, so he would not spook them!

There were Black headed Gulls, Oystercatchers and Curlew on the beach.

Charlie

Bye from Charlie

I hope you enjoyed this post and I thank you for visiting.

  10. The birds are good, but I really think they are outshone by the beach scenes. What beautiful light and composition. I must catch up with your posts but the internet is driving me nuts here.

  11. You took some great pictures along the beach there Margaret. It Seems strange that here in Greece there aren't any noisy Oystercathcers on teh beaches. Catch up with you soon.

    1. Don't I know that problem with dogs and birds. I must ask Keith where the wonderful image he took of two Blue Tits fighting at Ullswater is. They were like a little feathery ball in the grass. Both dogs were stunned into inactivity.

  14. I love hw quiet the beach appears to be. How nice of Charlie to be your companion even if he did frighten the birds away.

    1. HI EG Yes the beach was very quiet but I had charlie far enough away from the birds that they were left in piece but my photo were not good then. One cannot have everything. glad you liked the post an thanks for comment.

  18. This one piece of driftwood looks like it has legs and can almost walk away, like a live walking stick! I love the green rope shots, and the picture of the boat in the distance. Is Charlie your daughter's dog? He is beautiful and has a sweet countenance.
