WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY

A few weeks ago I took my bird group to the WOW Centre at the RSPB Belfast Reserve and these are Black tailed Godwit just getting their breeding plumage and a Black headed gull collecting nesting material.

    I'd love to see some summer plumage Blackwits: sadly they are pretty scarce over here in Japan.........

    Wow, they are beautiful with the orange and black stripes. They say that birds stand on one leg to conserve their warmth.
