Heron at North Pier in Bangor, Co Down N.Ireland

I photographed this Heron last week when I walked along the North Pier in Bangor

  9. WOW!!!! This is one of my favorite posts from you. Stunning flight photos! Look at the sun shining on his beak. And an amazing reflection that looks like he is navigating the ship masts...a trick of the eye. My first blog of the day, and so amazing to wake up to. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

  11. That is one handsome Heron and the reflection shot is amazing ... actually, all of the shots are amazing. In answer to your question, the hump on the nose is a mating season thing ... the bigger the better, I guess. To the pelican females, size matter :)
