Although this post has wild birds in it, it also features Elephant, Hippopotamus and Impala and the VIDEO at the end of this post will give you a better idea of what is going on at Vwasa Lodge in Malawi.

White faced Whistling Ducks with the Hippos, top far right is Hadeda Ibis.

Now I know these birds are very far away but from left to right, they are

African Spoonbill, Yellow – billed Stork, Hadeda Ibis and another Spoonbill.

  8. Well, Margaret, you presented us with quite a smorgasbord of wildlife to enjoy this morning! Absolutely stunning! We truly enjoyed the variety and a chance to observe behavior at the watering hole.

The video was fascinating! The elephants can be so protective, loving and threatening - all at the same time!

  9. I thoroughly enjoyed viewing the elephants both in images and the video. That one baby elephant is so cute and how it walked to the underside of the mother elephant. Love the Rhinos and the Whistlers as well. Thanks for sharing Margaret!

The photos of the hippos are my favorite - the hippos' size is emphasized by the ducks next to them.
