Once
again I ask you to think a bit, ‘out of the box’ for this post. Now you know I am on a series from Malawi and
at present am at the Vwasa Lodge Park so to be “safe” we are fenced in our
car!! So what you see is outside the fence!
Mainly
Hippopotamus with White- faced Whistling Ducks.
Oops! A rebel in the camp as Daniel, my grandson is now outside the fence!
On the dangerous side!!!
On the dangerous side!!!
My
granddaughter, Annika walks over to where the Malawian men cooked for us but
you can see one standing there making sure she is safe.
That is where we eat.
Not very well ‘fenced’ in but that is the way it was!
Lastly
the fish are fenced in this basin
although I think one is thinking of escaping!
I am afraid this post is a bit 'tongue in cheek' and I hope Tex forgives me and you have enjoyed it nevertheless .

I love your take on fences today! We're off to St Lucia this morning. And will stop at the bridge over the estuary to photograph hippos! And crocodiles. And swallows. And...
ReplyDeleteLove your out of the box (fence) thinking...
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't expect to see Ducks and Hippos in the same place Margaret.{:))
ReplyDeleteWow, I am surprised those fence would hold up against a hippo. The hippos and the ducks are an awesome sighting. Is it that dangerous you had to have a guard? Wonderful fence shots, enjoy your day!

ReplyDeleteLovely lateral thinking... boundaries abound! YAM xx
Nice post! And we all need to push the idea of blogs ones in a while! I think you got over this fence in stile! (!)
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Lovely pictures! Are hippos and ducks friends? :)
ReplyDeletehey, i saw a rickety fence in front of those hippos (not that it would keep anything in or out, but it looks like a fence.) :)
ReplyDeleteI love the rustic, but comfy atmosphere. Your grandchildren are just adorable, Margaret.
ReplyDeleteSomeday I'll see hippos in the wild for meself..until then, you're my source, Margaret!

Nice job with your "Fences". I too was surprised to see Hippos and Ducks together!
ReplyDeleteWow interesting fences and seeing the hippos is amazing. Your shots are always incredible.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.

The Hippopotamus with White- faced Whistling Ducks are superb, and ending is the fish, yummy.
ReplyDeleteNo, I just love this! Fences keep us safe sometimes. Great photos of the hippos!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adventure. I admire you for doing it. Really enjoyed, but not sure if I would do it.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the Hippos and the Whistlers. It is nice to see how the buildings/huts are built and to see the land is so dry. Love the fish shot!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. The Hippos are so cool and there was a fence in those shots. - I like your "out of the box" thinking though. Your grandkids sure are getting a great education visiting all these places.
ReplyDeleteI don't see the fence, so you did well in hiding it. You all look so out in the open. But your guards are probably pros and know when you should leave. This little straw pavilion is such a pretty place to eat! And where the men cook is adorable, I could live there! So it is only the men who cook?
ReplyDeleteMargaret,
ReplyDeletedisplayed a very exciting place.
I am delighted. I've never been there.
Greetings.
Wow - Hippos having a bath, spotted from the safety of your car, what a wonderful day out, with a cooked family dinner too - perfect :)

I saw a fence...your posts are always interesting.
ReplyDeleteWhat incredible shots! Hippopotamus with White- faced Whistling Ducks? Great post!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your humor Margaret, and also your photos. Those hippos are amazing to look at and I realize they can be very dangerous. Looks like you were well protected.
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy your outside-the-box post, Margaret. Very creative approach to the idea of putting up (for safety) or escaping (for freedom) barriers. How fortunate are your grandkids!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you weren't relying on that fence in the first couple of shots (quaint as it is) to keep you safe. Really enjoyed your post.
ReplyDeletea very cool fence find.....but in need of some quick repair!!!! those hypo's are gianormous, i can't get over their size!!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful adventures you are having! There is that fence in the water. It's primitive but a fence for sure. Your elephant pics in the next post are wonderful too. Sorry I haven't been around. My immune system is giving me a few problems this week.
ReplyDeleteTon post est remarquable ! superbe !
