WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY - Blessingbourne House Birds (Part 2)

As mentioned yesterday, I stayed at Blessingbourne House last year and these Swallows (did you guess right)were moving on the wire the same way as the ones I photographed then when they were doing the ‘hokey pokey and I wondered could they be the same returning Swallows!  Although I took more video of them this time, as I had uploaded, edited and published their antics last year and it was a great success and fun, I have posted that one again today.  So enjoy the dance moves of these birds.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these Swallows this year and that the video gave you a bit of a laugh.

  3. I'm sure that at least some of them will be the same adults, plus last year's youngsters Margaret. Swallows are extremely site faithful, even down to repairing and using last year's nest. It's good to see yours are back on territory. Let's hope for a productive year.

  10. i do too, and I enjoy them following me overhead while I mow outside! They are a charming bird, and yes it can get a bit messy under their nests but it all washes off!

  11. Wonderful! I think swallows are rather vulnerable to lice, hence the groovy dancing and grooming!
