Pirates Invade Ventnor, Isle of Wight!

It was a beautiful sunning day and while I was on the Isle of Wight last time, my daughter and I decided to go to the Ventnor Botanical Gardens which I had never visited.  I will show you those photographs in a later post sometime.

Afterwards, we decided to walk by the coast road from the gardens into Ventnor for lunch and this is when we discovered the ‘Pirates’!  This is my photographic walk and I suggest as there are a lot of shots you grab you coffee, sit comfortable, put into slide mode and enjoy.

View from the gardens along the coast.

Off we go on our walk.

A few more hills to climb!  Come on, you can do it.  Think of lunch waiting!

Nearly there!  Phew!

First view of one of the Pirates!

The Spyglass Inn has wonderful food and you could spend a lot of time inside looking at all the things they have collected.  CLICK HERE to go to their web site.

This is Gillian, my daughter and it was wonderful to sit outside for lunch in March, in the sun, overlooking this beautiful Bay.

Hope you are not as exhausted looking at these photos as this sailor appears to be.  He must have finished his watch or could he have had to much of the 'hard stuff'!

Thank you for visiting.

Many thanks for all your comments on any of my posts.

  13. Hi Margaret,
Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog. I have enjoyed checking out your blog as well. Actually, you had me all excited with your visit to Isle of Wight!! Seems that much of my family started out here in the Isle of Wight --- and after googling it -- turns out that my family was in Isle of Wight, Virginia. I was getting ready to make a trip for this summer to do some courthouse searching for my genealogy.
    What a fun place!!

Thanks for dropping a kind word on my blog!
The Isle of White.... a name to dream about!
That is definitely a place I'd love to visit one day before we leave Europe!
The thatch roof on pic n° 8 is quite extraordinary, it gives a certain... personality to the house! Lol!
So enjoyable to be with your daughter to share the moment!
    Keep well!
