Exciting News

Yesterday, I had a quick look to see if the Black Guillemots were at the Pier and was delighted to say that there were 8 pairs there as well as 8 pairs at the Long Hole.  None were in their nest holes.  However, one pair standing on a ledge at the Long Hole was copulating! I had never actually seen that before and I was just fortunate to have my binoculars focused on these 2 birds at the time. The whole act was over in seconds and therefore unfortunately I didn't get a photo. It is exciting to think that the next generation of Black Guillemots is hopefully on its way.
