I took a walk along Seacliffe Road recently and spotted our largest gull in the UK. It is a Great Black backed gull and its wingspan is 150 - 170cm (60 -67”) and weighs up to 2 2/3llb. You do not want to mess with him!

Great close up photos of this impressive gull. Not sure if I have ever seen one of these gulls.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful gull and great close-ups.
ReplyDeleteHe looks large and handsome as well.
ReplyDeleteTo many people this is just a "seagull". To us Margaret it is a beautiful specimen of the gull family of birds, a Great Black-backed gull. Very nice portraits.
ReplyDeleteawesome close-ups of the beautiful gull...always reminding me of home!!
ReplyDeleteHe's beautiful, and huge! If his wingspan is around 60" or better, and i am just 60" (five feet) tall, well let's just say i don't want to get on his bad side.
ReplyDeletewow that is a BIG gull!
