WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY

As you may know, in the UK we are still allowed to walk in the fresh air but not in a group so now my early morning walkers walk solo but report in daily on a WhatsApp as an encouragement to all the members.  So these photographs of this Little Egret in breeding plumage were taken at the Flood Gates, last week, near Newtownards.
I am linking to WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY.

Each day I try and take a different walk taking photos and I now have several of my groups that are on WhatsApp and so daily I am spending more time editing the images so that members can see nature and keep in communication with one another as we are all in isolation.  So, I have not had  the same time to comment on your posts but I do look at them.  It is taking all of my time still making a daily post of my own!

Many thanks for visiting and commenting.
Please stay Safe.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS AND THE WEEKEND ROUNDUP

Time for Weekend Reflections and TheWeekend Roundup and the letter is L and Lovely.  Some years ago I took a guided tour  of C.S LEWIS around Belfast where he was born.  Ross Wilson’s statue of LEWIS stands in front of the the wardrobe from his book, The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe and is in C. S. LEWIS Square in Belfast.

This LION below is on the back of the wardrobe.

His grandfather was the first Rector at St Marks Church where Jack (as he insisted on being called) attended with his parents and on the Manse door was a LION door knocker.

Jack and Warnie (his brother) came back to St. Marks in 1935 to dedicate this LOVELY stained glass window to their parents. The LATIN inscription translates as;
‘To the greater glory of God and dedicated to the memory of Albert James LEWIS, who died on the 25th September 1929, aged 67, and also of his wife, Flora Augusta Hamilton, who died on the 23rd August 1908, aged 47.’

Above is the home called LITTLE LEA where Jack spent his childhood.

For my REFLECTION image I chose the Bangor LIBRARY as it fits in with the LITERARY theme of todays’ post.

Many thanks for your visit and also your comments.
