WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY - Stormy Day For Waders

I was coming home one morning on a sunny but stormy day and I took these few photographs of Redshank and Turnstone that were hunkering down behind a small slipway at the yacht club.

  13. Hunkering is right ... it amazes me how the water birds survive the cold and the wet. Winter is a rough time for them, but they just push through it :P Wish life always worked that way ...

  22. Redshanks are rare here, their calls are one of the sounds that instantly place me back in the UK on windy marshes...........
