I mentioned to you on Wednesday that Judith, Daniel and
Annika visit an orphanage every Friday in Malawi. They read stories and play games with the
boys and often play hand ball with the older girls. These are photographs I took in their grounds and the children looked after quite a number of Tortoises and 3 older boys were responsible for looking after the goats.
This was a lovely room where the children played inside with different instruments and this is Daniel trying out the drums.
I hope you had a glimpse of this orphanage and thanks for your visit.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that Boxing Day would this be even better.
I am linking this post with SATURDAY CRITTERS.
Also many thanks for all your comments.
It does look fresh and clean. Love the animals, and that mural.
ReplyDeleteI'm pleasantly surprised as the orphanage looks really nice, not at all what I was expecting.
ReplyDeleteHello Margaret, wonderful post and images. It is so nice to read about your grandchildren visiting this orphanage. I love the tortoise and the cute goats and the flowers are lovely. Thank you for this post and sharing your critters. I linked you up! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tour of the orphanage. I love the elephant on the wall!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for the New Year!
Lea
The children appear to be well taken care of. The elephant mural is great.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a decent orphanage for the boys. Like your tortoise photo. Good that someone shows up to spend some time with these children.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a nice place. Left me with a good feeling.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place! I love that brightly colored fence. The tortoise has such a pretty pattern on its shell.
ReplyDeleteA nice place for the children and good that they have goats to look after.
ReplyDeleteStaying out of the crazy crowds on Boxing Day and enjoying lots of good leftovers. When I was little I had a pet tortoise named Pansy because he loved to eat the flowers in the garden. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI think taking care of animals is a great way for small people, whether born to the manor or not so, to start learning to be wonderful humans.

Lovely photos! I like the cheerful colors of the orphanage. Belated Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing Day to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteLove the elephant painting. Orphanages are not something one thinks of to visit. There is a 'children's home' as they are called in this area, just a couple of miles from our home. What a Christlike action for your daughter and grandchildren.
