Blessingbourne House Museum (Part 10)

If you missed seeing my post of the old vehicles from the Blessingbourne Carriage Museum on Monday, CLICK HERE.  Now I will show you the rest of the museum items I photographed.  I wonder how many you remember?

I found this museum fascinating as it evoked memories of by-gone days.  Some of the items I remember from staying with my grand parents.  I hope, for those of you who are old enough, it has brought back happy momeries for you too.

Believe it or not, they have another museum with items that need to be restored but one such item is an UN helicopter!  I am hoping to go back in the autumn to photograph the lake with the beautiful autmn colours reflected in the water and I will do another post about that museum then.

Many thanks for your visit and also for all the comments you leave.

  3. Hello Margaret, what a lovely exhibit of antiques. I like the old bicycles and the cute stuffed animals. The piano looks like one my grandmother had. Thanks for sharing your tour! Have a happy day!

  7. Hi Margaret... Love to see all these items from days gone by.
    I can see my Grandmothers life through these things.
    They treasured and took care of things. Today it is mostly a trough away world.
    I bet wash day would be a nightmare if today's women had to use those wringers! : }

  12. A very impressive collection of images today.
    Most museums in USA won't allow to photograph anything...you were lucky to be able to do so.

  16. Delightful, Margaret. Such wonderful old antiques to bring back some memories, although many were way before my time. I did have a "girls" bicycle for sure. We have my husband's mother's wicker baby buggy and his dad's old wooden scooter.

  18. Love all of your antique items here... especially like the tricycle. Funny how i used one of these when I was little, graduated up to the bicycle, and now think I am more back to the age of the tricycle. Especially since my biking accident breaking 5 ribs. Learned my lesson there. Fun shots Margaret. Also did not realize you had worked on one of the mercy ships in nursing. Would LOVE to hear more about that. How fascinating!

  19. Fun and interesting collection. Yes, I recognize a few. We have one of the irons on top of our cabinet. It was my husband's grandmother's iron.

  20. Some interesting objects on display. The pram looks uncomfortable. I'd like to try out the Penny farthing too. I hope at some point (or did I miss the story) you tell us about the UN helicopter
