Good shots Margaret. I was lucky enough to see one in England once, but in Tuscany I use to see loads of them. They walk around you on the lawn and take no notice of you.
Margaret, you captured this beautiful creature with your lens so wonderfully. It's feathers are like a brilliant costume to wear for a most sacred occasion.
Double WOW!!! This Hoopoe is beautiful and amazing! I have never seen anything like it!! It has the head of a pileated, but the beak of another bird. And black stripes on it's head and body. It even has fall colors!! But it does look like the bright markings are warning not to kill or eat.
Ah, I love the Scripture quote with these beautiful photos of the African Hoopoe!
