South Donegal (Part 1)

Last January a group from Northern Ireland Ornithological Club visited South Donegal in Ireland for a weekend and the weather was a atrocious.   If you watch the VIDEO at the end you will see that!  Also these are photographs showing a little bit of Donegal scenery and some of them are taken from a moving car!  Although the colours do not do Donegal justice, this is what is it like in the winter.  You can see some snow on the hilltops.

Taken from a moving car again!!

Now this video will give you an idea what the sea was like around the north of Ireland.  CLICK HERE is it does not appear below.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing a little bit of South Donegal and this week I will be showing you different aspects of it.  Tomorrow I will show you birds we came across as well as a video on Thirsday of Pale bellied Brent Geese.

Thanks for visiting and also to those who leave comments.

  15. I think the photos show off the wild & rugged landscape of Donegal perfectly well. I feel for the brave fisherman trying to set his rods up in that weather, serious commitment.
