WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY

I was delighted to see two families of Mallard duckling in Ward Park recently.

    I think ducklings are the prettiest of the bird babies and these are so cute. We only had one lot hatch out last spring - Pacific Black. Usually we have quite a few settings of them as well as Grey Teal and Wood Duck. We did have quite a few other species to watch though.

    Mallards are our favorites. Sweetie will eat chicken and turkey, but he won't eat duck because he likes them too much!
