WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY

These Nutmeg Mannikin were at the Esplanade in Cairns, Australia. There were a flock of 20 birds feeding on the grass.
I am linking with WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY.

  1. Awesome! I have never seen them, even in movies. By the way, I found out a little about them.

  2. Their beaks are like our Grosbeaks. Well named they are.

  3. This is a new bird to me! They look like some kind of finches, but their beaks are even bigger.

  8. Hi, Margaret! Gini and I hope you are well and having fun! We are!

Terrific photos of the Mannikins. Some western cities in the U.S. have seen small populations of these birds which escaped from cages or pet shops.

    All the best!
