This
new Squirrel hide was opened at Easter time at the National Trust property at
Mount Stewart. It was quite busy with
families coming to visit it however while I was there I did not see a Red Squirrel
but plenty of both Blue, Great and Coal Tits were on the feeders and Chaffinch
were on the ground. All the photographs were taken through glass.
I
am linking this post with THROUGH MY LENS.
Many
thanks for visiting and also for leaving comments.

ReplyDeleteThat sounds a good idea. Be interesting to note how many pele manage to see red squirrels. Do you have grey ones there?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately there are grey however with the cooperation of farmers and MS estate they are trying to address that problem so that Red Squirrels have a chance of surviving around these parts.
DeleteBeautiful birds. I hope the red squirrels can survive.
ReplyDeleteI believe that red squirrels will survive in that area.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos.
Blessed week.
Gorgeous bird! But he will never be able to get an entire nut out of the cage! I never heard of squirrel hides, so this is a first for me.
ReplyDeleteHard for the squirrels to hide when there is a sign pointing them out. Lovely bird shots, but I'm not sure what kind of bird this is?
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos, Margaret. I hope the Red Squirrels are conserved in this manner. Jo
ReplyDeleteWe went out to nearby Savary Island in our boat and went up to the seagull hide to watch the nesting birds on the cliffs. Saw my first hummingbird yesterday so got my feeders out right away. - Mary
