SATURDAY CRITTERS - Ardress House Farm

These are the animals I photo graphed at the National Trust Property Ardress House Farm apart from the two ponies I showed you yesterday, HERE on video and the the unusual sheep HERE if you missed them.

I am linking this post with SATURDAY CRITTERS.

Many thanks for visiting and also to all who leave comments.

  1. A contented chookie noise is one of the nicest I know...

  2. They are so pretty! Gotta love those red combs. Plus the cobblestones are so lovely, and such a big area of them. Very favorite is number 4 for sure, it is gorgeous!! What is that big metal thing? Some sort of farm implement, or a sculpture?

    1. Yes, farm implement but what they used it for I do not know.

  3. Chickens and geese roaming the garden are a part of my concept of "the good life". My neighbour keeps 6 of each of them along with 6 very photogenic rabbits, but refuses to put any of his animals in a pen at night time. Often we wake to see large bunnies of different colours grazing on our lawn or nibbling the new spring growth off our plants. This morning there was a pile of feathers and one large chicken head on our front lawn to greet us and no sounds of clucking chooks from my neighbours. Somewhere in Brighton there is one very contented fox!

  4. The colors and feather patterns on chickens are beautiful when you really look at them. You got some great shots. The second is my favorite. The chicken adds a little splash of color, and that farm implement is intriguing.

  15. Chickens and ducks are not the sort of birds I have come to expect to see on your blog, but they do look great. There always seems to be a touch of humor in chickens and their behavior. I see one rooster was good enough to pose for you.
