SUNDAY THOUGHT - Gobbins (Part 7)

My letters have been straightforward and sincere; nothing is written between the lines! And even though you don’t know me very well (I hope someday you will), I want you to try to accept me and be proud of me as you already are to some extent; just as I shall be of you on that day when our Lord Jesus comes back again.

2 Corinthians 1:13-14

May 2016

This is my last image from the Gobbins series I have been posting about all last week.  It is a very unusual sight to see a letter box like this in Northern ireland, however it is at the top of a very steep path that lead down to the few properties nearing the beginning of the Gobbins cliff-path.

I hope you have enjoyed the series and if you missed any posts, here are the links below.

Thank you for visiting and also to all who leave comments.

  1. A great quotation today. Are you sure its' Corinthians? Sounds like Dithery Dave but maybe he stole it.

  2. Yes I am sure it is Corinthians and there are many times people say things that actually come from the bible and they do not know that was the source of the words.

    1. Margaret, I guessed he had pinched it. The bloke has never had an original thought...Even misbehaving with pigs must have been done before.

  3. Margaret, I have some enjoyed your series and on the Gobbins Walk. The photos were stunning, as usual, and you gave just the right amount of information about the history and development of what has always been a favourite of our family. Michael and I plan to take the family there this summer. I know my grandchildren, no longer toddlers, will be fascinated to see it. They live in Larne, and we have often hoped that they would reopen the cliff path.

  6. Thank you for posting photos from your Gobbins walk. Of course your bird photos were excellent. I'm just glad not to have had to climb 1400 steps to enjoy your photos. Looks like the whole group had a great time.

Beautiful quote. I was in Corinth, where St. Paul spoke.
    Blessed week.

  8. What a perfect bible verse to pair with this photo! It is a pretty mailbox, and the postman will have no trouble seeing the address. So where are all the other mailboxes...up against the buildings?

  11. Makes me wonder if the residents take turns playing delivery to the other residents. Unusual, for sure.
