THROUGH MY LENS - Walk in Killynether Wood, Newtownards, County Down

These are a few shots I took when I was out with my bird group at Killynether Wood, near Newtownards last Monday. We heard a lot of birds and fleetingly saw them but I did not get any good shots.  Although there were many small White and Green Veined Butterflies, once again they were going at the speed of light so no shots.  The only ones that stood still for a second were these Speckled Wood.  The Bluebells we amazing.  After arriving home there was a Small Tortoiseshell sunning itself in my back garden (taken through window).

I am linking this post to THROUGH MY LENS

Yesterday I showed you Scrabo Tower which is to the right of Killynether Wood and on Thursday I will share with you the history of the tower.

Thank you for your visit and also to all who leave comments.

  9. Butterflies are a wonderful change of pace and the little Speckled Woods are lovely. We have the Bluebells here as well and they are magnificent though not too long lived. I chuckled at your plant tag where the Tortoiseshell is sunning herself ... I leave my tags on my plants too just so I will remember what they are when they come up again, Ha! It is fun being old if you can laugh at yourself :)
