I hope you are well rested and ready to see part 2 of my photographs of my walk along Broad Water. I have been researching the history of the town of Moira and it is fascinating. However, I will tell you that the canal was built to the north (which became the
boundary between Counties Antrim and Down) and in 1841 the Moira railway station was
completed, and is now the oldest such structure on the island of Ireland.
Tufted Ducks
Cormorant
Little Grebe and Coot
Mallard Ducks
Cormorants drying out their wings
This little Blue Tit was flitting around very quickly feeding on the Bulrushes.
There were a couple of Wrens singing on each side of the path.
Hooded Crow and Sheep
When I looked through my view finder and took took the shot above, it looked like the Hooded Crow was sitting on the sheep's back!
I leave you with a photo of a Mute Swan bathing which I recorded on video and will be part 3 of my post on my walk along Broad Water, however you will have to wait until Thursday as I always post an
Australia bird on Wednesday's.
Before I finally finish I will leave you with a video I took as I walked along the towpath.
It can be accessed at
If the space below is black, click on it and the video will appear.
I hope you are not too exhausted after our walk and that you enjoyed the scenery and birds. I think this would be a great outing for my bird group in the spring.
Please look in tomorrow as I know you will enjoy the video.
Many thanks for visiting and I appreciated all your comments yesterday and thanks you for them all.

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous place. I am always in awe at the length of time that so many countries have not only been settled, but inhabited by builders. Geographically ours is an old country - but in so many ways it is very, very young.
