Weekend Reflections and The Weekend Roundup

TIME for The Weekend Roundup and Weekend Reflections and the letter is T and Tall.  The first THREE photographs were TAKEN at Victoria Park, Belfast when I had my bird group with me.  THIS is a TERRIFIC looking TEAL, followed by my REFLECTION image of TALL TREES and the TALL spire of a church in my town of Bangor.  Finally a shot TAKEN in Cape TOWN showing a Seal's TAIL and TWO people sitting on a huge TYRE, watching it swimming in the water.

CYGNETS at MOUNT STEWART GARDENS

My story and photographs continue from TUESDAY'S post when I was at the National Trust Property of Mount Stewart.
"Now all keep close together" says Dad.

“ You are all doing well” says Dad.  “ It is safer if you stay together”

“Let’s try swimming behind one another” The cygnets say.

“No better to stick together” He says and Mum turned round to agree.

Do you think Dad we have gone far enough on their first swim?” says Mum

“OK, now all follow me and stay close” she says.  Dad makes sure they do!

“Perhaps Mum you are taking them too far away from the reeds” he says.
Final part of this series on Saturday.

WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY

Now this is going to be a 3 part series with a story running through all the 3 parts. The 2nd part will be Wednesday and the final post will be Saturday. These cygnets were born the day I was at Mount Stewart when BBC 1 were filming for a live programme in which I was one of a Rent – a – Crowd in the background of the Formal Garden at the National Trust Property of Mount Stewart. (Link at the end of this post).

Our story starts when both parents had decided to take all 7 of their new family for a swim.  You can see them (just) leaving the nest and Dad leads the way with Mum's encouragement.

Dad waiting for all of them to swim through the reeds.

Now Mum appears.

“ OK, 2 through“ says  Dad. “ Only 5 more to come”.

“Come on little one, you are the last one” he says.

”OK, Mum, All present and correct so off you all go, I will bring up the rear” he says.

Off they go so do not forget to look in on Wednesday and Saturday for the continuation of the story and images.

THROUGH MY LENS = Opening of more trails at Mount Stewart

Last week I was part of a Rent – A - Crowd at the National Trust Property of Mount Stewart when the BBC was filming live. This post is about the opening of another new trail which would add another 4 miles to the existing trails.   We were instructed to go it a certain point round the lake and  there we met by one the  the BBC personal who then escorted us to the Squirrel hide which was opposite the trail to be opened.  So we waited there until our time came for the official opening by Jon Kerr, our  General Manager.

These are the 2 ladies and Smudge the dog I walked round the lake with and then met up with the others.

Jon Kerr

Jon Kerr was interviewed by Gavan Andrews and he also interviewed Bob of the workers that had helped make the trail as well as Jane, one of the regular walkers at this property. Then Jon cut the ribbon and we all set off along the new trail.

SATURDAY CRITTERS

These images were photographed recently while I was spending some time at my old caravan.  They are the House Sparrow and in the last shot the H. Sparrow has the company of the Dunnock and all were shot through my window.
