WEEKEND REFLECTIONS AND THE WEEKEND ROUNDUP

Time for Weekend Reflections and The Weekend Roundup and the letter is V and Vertical.   There were several Sculptures on Cairns Esplanade and these were five  VERTICAL ones.  I will show you a couple more sculptures next Monday

Above is Riley’s hotel from the inside looking out and you can see VERY  VERTICAL pillars.  Below is a building with VIBRANT coloured walls on their balconies and also a VERY lovely mural.  The final image is a Bar- tailed Godwit with a REFLECTION.

GOOD FENCES

This is Riley’s Hotel where I told you last week I had a lovely meal but I also I had a swim in their infinity pool as well as soaking in their Jacuzzi!  It is the Esplanade at Cairns, Australia.  The fences are glass and a bit hard to see.
Can you see them?

Can you see a bird in this photograph?

I am sure you can see it now.  It is a Little Pied Cormorant that I photographed on the bird walk through the Cairns Botanical Gardens.

It came out of the water however it was at a great distance from me, hence these poor photographs.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS AND THE WEEKEND ROUNDUP

Time for Weekend Reflections and The Weekend Roundup and the letter is U and Uniform.  Most of these first images were taken on the Esplanade at Cairns, Queensland and both these guns came UNDER fire in the first World War and in the first gun UNDER the wheel you can see a shadow of that wheel.

Often I would join my daughter or friends at this restaurant called “Muddy’s”.  Perhaps you can see from this image why it is called this? When the tide goes out, you are left with mud flats which attract birds.  Here I am sitting UNDER the canopy and shade in the restaurant and in front of me, UNDER both tables there is shade from the UNRELENTINGLY heat of the sun.

Below, is a Reef heron with his head UNDER water trying to catch a fish.  This is also my REFLECTION photograph.
Last;y are tow students in school UNIFORM.  The boy on the right is my grandson having recieved a certificate

THROUGH MY LENS

Once again let us walk round the Cairns Botanical Garden.  This first shot is of the entrance to the Tanks Galleries.  These old tanks had been used in the war and they have refurbished them and use them as art galleries and performance areas.  However the art exhibition had just finished the day before I visited.
I am linking to THROUGH MY LENS.

Above are Black Butcherbird and below you will see a river which we crossed by a bridge and I saw a 5’ Stingray.  Our bird guide had never seen one in this river so that was special and very unusual.

I thought these were unusual flowers on this plant (don’t know its name) and finally the beautiful lake where we saw a number of birds.

SUNDAY THOUGHT

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

This Brahminy Kite was photographed at the Cairns Botanical Gardens, Australia.

Have a Blessed Sunday.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS AND THE WEEKEND ROUNDUP

Time for Weekend Reflections and The Weekend Roundup and the letter is T and Two.  The first image is of TWO TERRIFIC people, my SIL Jon and Daughter Judith.  They took me to Yorkie’s Knob and we walked in this TREE lined path to the beach and a restaurant called Hidden.

There were a few TREMENDOUSLY posh apartments and as you can see this one is REFLECTED in the swimming pool.

Lastly I was thrilled when a good friend Don took my out for the day and as we rounded a corner in the car, we draw to a quick halt to photographed these TWO Cassowaries.  When I get round to editing more images, I will be showing you many more photographs of THESE TERRIFIC birds.

Many thanks for your visit and also your comments.
