These
photographs were taken at Castle Espie, near Comber and are of the Bufflehead, Cinnamon Teal and White-cheeked Pintail ducks.
The last image is all the ducks and geese being fed.

am linking with SATURDAY CRITTERS.
Many thanks for your visit and also your comments.
Nice bird finds and photos, Margaret. I like your Cinnamon Teal best, I wouldn't have dreamed a bird could look like that. For sure I've never seen one and don't expect for doing that either. Feeding time for animals is always a pleasant time, and a nice scene. Fish in the fish farm ponds come to eat just as would a chicken, hog, or even our Beta Fish.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week,

Duckie heaven!!
ReplyDeleteDelightful images, Margaret! I guess, from the large numbers of unusual species shown, that this location is a bit like the Wetland Centres we have in UK where most of the birds are foreign birds that have been pinioned. I find myself a little uncomfortable about that sort of scenario. When I enquired at the London Wetland Centre why these birds had been pinioned to keep them there, their response was that they were part of a breeding programme for birds on the critically endangered list. Smew? Bufflehead? etc. Criticially endangered? I'd have preferred to have the honest answer which would have been "we're a zoo".
