This week for FRIDAY’S HUNT is the letter C, Favourite and
Odd Angle and I am also linking it with WEEKEND REFLECTIONS. So today I am showing you more CREEPY CRAWLY CREATURES I found in David’s garden. The
first one is called Songololo and I have a video of it as well.
CLICK HERE if the video does not appear below.
A millipede which curls up into a pinwheel-shaped coil
when disturbed.
Above is my FAVOURITE image of the Songololo CURLED up.
Below is another interesting CRITTER, a Millipede, however David did not know the name of it.
Now below is a CHALLENGE. Can you see the CREATURE?
Maybe a bit CLOSER?
Now can you see the white Spider?
Now below, may also prove to be is bit of a CHALLENGE to know what this is as it is taken from an ODD ANGLE. Any guesses before I tell you?
It is the underside of my daughter’s massage table
where you put your head.
Lastly a REFLECTION shot with a CURVED handrail into
the swimming pool.
Many thanks for your visit and also for your comments.
I believe the second creature is a millipede. Never have seen or heard of a Songolo, but you are right, it is rather beautiful curled up.
ReplyDeleteAn intriguing bunch.
ReplyDeleteLove the spider - and agree with you about the curled up Songololo.
Great post - love the millipede and that well camouflaged spider. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteNow they are proper creepy crawlies as well!
ReplyDeleteMillipedes I can do without, but I find the spiders fascinating. This one sure is camouflages. I only found it after looking at your enlarged photo of it. Fine reflection in the pool. Not really the time of year for pools here unless one lives in Florida.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of any of these creepy crawlies, but you do get credit for some good photos of them.
ReplyDeleteI love the name of the giant millipede.
ReplyDeleteGreat reflection!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll complain anymore about the little spiders and millipedes that I see around here. :-)
I need to show this to my daughter, she is afraid of centipedes and milipedes. They sure look cool as did that spider.
ReplyDeleteThat spider is amazing! Good captures of these critters.
ReplyDeletePlenty of great shots!
ReplyDeleteYour 'C'reepy 'C'rawley Songololo is quite interesting, thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend. 'C' you next week.
ReplyDeleteGood collection of creepy critters.
ReplyDeleteI HATE creepy crawly!! My husband can't wont't forget the time I jumped when a grass snake ran across my path!
ReplyDeleteOoooo! Now I have the heebie jeebies Margaret 😊 we used to call them chongalulus, oh and the white spiders.. eeek!
ReplyDeleteGood Angles, Margaret. We need a ladder or steps out of our pool. The pool people said they had to drain the pool when we install one. Don't know when that will be.
ReplyDeleteCreep Crawling Things, they creep, we creep.
Oh yes, I'm pretty careful when I take driving pictures. I'd rather stop but most times there isn't a place or time. When I get REALLY OLD I might not take pictures. I don't (hardly) ever aim by the preview window, that's why this picture was at an angle before I straightened it.
..
A great post with some fun challenges! I love insects - they are so diverse and remarkably interesting. The images you captured are marvelous at showing their distinct characteristics, especially their feet and legs. I am envious that you were able to see these so close up! What a treat.
ReplyDeleteWhy do some people get squeamish with creepy crawlies? If we just took the trouble to look close we would see how beautiful they are.Thank you for reminding me of that today Margaret. I love that Songololo; and what a great name.
ReplyDeleteThe image of the Songololo is absolutely brilliant
ReplyDeleteMollyxxx
Wow! Don't think I'll ever seen something like a millipede looks so beautiful. Nice work! I remember I saw a millipede or centipede when I was younger and bent down to pick it up-I thought it was something like a retainer or braces! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a millipede. It's so cute curled up! That looks like a big spider. I've never seen that angle of the massage table! Great idea.
ReplyDeleteafter all those creepy things I need a swim :)
ReplyDeleteThat is quite the assortment of critters. I love the millipede curled up. The spider is beautiful! What a fun idea for odd angle. Of course, I'm sure it's much better to be looking through the other side and receiving a massage. Thanks so much for joining Friday's Hunt. Have a great week!
