BLOGGING DIFFICULTIES

Hi Folks. I know I am not the only one with blogging difficulties and I would like to know who is please. I can no longer upload photos or video. I cannot even get into my own blog using my normal browsers and have had to change to another. I do hope this is not my last blogging post to you all.

  1. Hi Margaret, I haven't had this problem but sometimes the storage in blogger can be full. I think they offer a paid subscription - OR - you could probably resize some of your photos to smaller sizes and it might free up some space. I have no idea if this would work or not - just a suggestion. If storage space is the issue - you could also delete old posts..... but again - not sure if that is the problem you are having.

    1. HI Kerri Many thanks for getting back to me. I will certainly look at the size of the photos and try and make some of the ealier onessmall (if it will letme now!!) I have now managed to upload a video today of Tilly the pup, so at least I can do that. However I mainly take more stills than video so if it is not fixed, I will have to stop.

  2. I have had issues since before the holidays. I use Chrome and compose in LiveWriter. I was having trouble getting posts to show on the Dashboard. I found that if I signed out of Chrome and then signed back in it helped. I am flying blind I'm afraid so can't help very much.
I suspect it will sort itself out in time.
    Good luck.

  5. if you don't want to pay for additional storage (if that is indeed the problem), you can delete photos from older posts to free up room in your account. blogger only allows a certain amount of free space (which it stores automatically to picasa web albums) and then makes you purchase more. i've seen folks delete old post and even start a whole new blog to avoid having to pay for addtl. storage space.

  7. Hi Margaret,
I would first go onto your blogger dashboard and click onto your Plus 1 profile, scroll down onto your settings and once there scroll down the page there is a bit on there which tells you how much storage you have availiable but at 15gb of storage I can't see that you would have used all that up yet, it could simply be a browser issue personally i would stick to either Firefox or Chrome most issues I use to have are no longer appearing.

  8. I'm sorry you're having problems with Blogger. I use Blogger with Chrome and I haven't had any problems so far.

  9. Blogger with Chrome works extremely well. I had those same issues last year.....I hope you get it all worked out. I enjoy reading about all your work and fun:)

  10. I had similar problems a few days ago. It wasn't (for a change) blogger at fault, but one of my security add-ons which had decided to block the photo and video adding functions. I didn't even get a screen I recognised when I tried. Good luck.

  11. This may or may not help - and I am technologically challenged myself. I have a program called NoScript running. It was telling me that it had blocked an attempt to infiltrate. I went into the program, into Options, into Advanced Options and deselected 'ticked' boxes. A reboot and the problem was gone. I didn't know what I was doing, and was lucky.
I have also found that Blogger help is sometimes of assistance. Good luck.

  12. Hi, Margaret. As others have suggested, it may be a storage issue. When my storage was filled on Blogger, I initially paid for more. But then it occurred to me that it would be a lifetime commitment to pay for that storage, even if I quit blogging, because the photos would become unviewable if I quit paying at some time in the future. So I switched to Flickr and now store my photos there for free.

  13. Blogger Help forum (something is broken), shows many messages from Bloggers experiencing the same as us both. I personally don't have any storage issues because I always have resized my photos, which offers unlimited storage. These problems we're having alongwith many others, have Blogger Engineering teams working hard at the moment. A fix hopefully is imminent to cater for recent updates in various OS and/or browsers.
