The day I arrived in Blantyre, Malawi, this Pied Crow was the
first bird I saw at my daughter's house where I am staying. We are now travelling around Malawi and have arrived at Lake Malawi and have Monkeys in the garden!
These shots are of the back of the house where
the veranda is and you can see 4 Pied Crows.
This is the front of the family house.
Nelson, Judith and their daughter Fanny. Nelson is the Gardener and he opens and
closed the main gate. They live in their
own house in the grounds.
Martha and her
son Jehosaphat who comes twice a week to clean.
Many thanks for all your comments especially when I do
not have much internet time to comment on your posts.
Very interesting. So is the Pied just like a regular crow in every respect except color?
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of, much less seen a pied crow. Thank you. Education and delight.
ReplyDeleteWhat handsome suits those birds have!

ReplyDeleteYour daughter's home is very welcoming. The grounds look great so Nelson is an excellent gardener plus he kills those pesky poison snakes! Lovely crows.

ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting bird, Margaret! Looks like he's wearing a little tank top. Enjoy the trip!
ReplyDeleteCertainly different from the crows I'm used to seeing. Love their colors!
ReplyDeleteLove that pied crow, so different to our black ones. Always nice to see how people live in other countries.
ReplyDeleteWow you get around Margaret!
ReplyDeleteNeat looking crows! Fanny is a cutie, she looks a little camera shy.
ReplyDeleteOoh, monkeys! That would be quite an experience! :-) The Pied Crows are wearing their tuxes in honor of your arrival. Lovely family that lives on the grounds. Have an amazing time visiting!
ReplyDeleteA lovely photo of the gardener and his family. The crows are interesting. Also that is a lovely house. I was interested in those bars. Is that in case there are wild animals?
ReplyDeleteAmazing to see so many Pied Crows in the garden, a species of crow not known to me before seeing them here.
ReplyDeleteHave a great stay.
Wonderful images of a different part of the world. Looking forward to more from Malawi.
