The Weekend Roundup and Weekend Reflections

Last Sunday I went for a long walk to Ballyholme along Seacliffe Road and home again and decided to find all the photographs for Weekend Reflections and The Weekend Roundup.  The prompts were the letter C, Favourite and Clouds.  Well in the first image I cover all of them but as I was on a walk, I also saw, CLOUDS, CATKINS, past this lovely Guest house called CAIRN Bay Lodge, photographed a CHILD and her father  who were CYCLISTS, then past the Ballyholme Yacht CLUB where there were some CATAMARANS.  I had to stop and watch a dispute that this COMMON Gull was having with 2 Black headed Gulls over a CRUST of bread, then watched a very CROWDED little island with gulls and waders on it, past the CAFE COD Fish and CHIPS shop and the CASH  Machine and finally came to the !st Presbyterian CHURCH in Bangor.

GOOD FENCES

Once again I am taking you into Ward Park and this is the War Memorial and big gun and behind it are the bowling greens.  Further on we have one of the ponds with the Guinea fowl I showed you recently walking on the road behind those houses you can just see in image three.

Wolf howl Supermoon

I have only one image today.  

It was taken on 2 January when we had this Wolf howl Supermoon present but unfortunately I did not have my tripod and so this is hand held.

I am hoping on 31 January for clear skies and I hope to have my tripod at hand to take this next larger moon which has no given name and therefore will be called a Blue Moon.

WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY - EXTRA

Following on from yesterday when I told you we visited Kinnegar down at the sea and there were a lot of birds there.  As I was with my telescope letting the class see all the birds, Danny took these photographs.  They are Redshank, gulls, Dunlin with an Oysstercatcher is flight in the 3rd image, an upside down gull flying (what's all that about) Black headed  Godwit feeding, Ringed Plover flying, a group of Knot. All in all a good day's birding- 39 different species of birds and we all enjoyed it.

THROUGH MY LENS - EXTRAS

On Monday I took my bird group up to the WOW RSPB Centre in Belfast and found the lake totally frozen with 1 Shelduck and a number of Hooded Crows skating on it however there were some bird feeders that attracted a good number of birds and this Blue Tit, Redpoll and Moorhen were take by Danny from the group.  We decided to change our plans and go down to Kinnegar by the sea to see if there were more birds there but just before we left, in flew Black tailed Godwits right in front of the observatory window no more than 3' away from us and these are the last 2 images today.  

Tomorrow I will show you birds at Kinnegar and all in all from a poor start we chalked up 39 different species of birds during the morning.

SATURDAY CRITTERS

I was walking through Ward Park near my home and I saw this Squirrel busying himself collecting nuts and eating some of them and this dog was out for a walk with his owner.
