Certainly in Northern Ireland I am not familiar with the word ZANY so hopefully these 2 shots fits the bill.  Found this ZANY Doctor when I visited his surgery recently. The next shot is of a ZANY boat with lots of amusing ZANY things on or round it.  I think the man who put the boat here must also be very ZANY.  Now what do you think?  The final shot is my REFLECTION photograph.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS AND THE WEEKEND ROUNDUP

Time for Weekend Reflections and The WeekendRoundup and the letter is Y and Yesterday.I was wondering what one earth I was going to photograph for Yesterday and I came across this plant called YESTERDAY –today –tomorrow.  So as I had never heard of this plant I thought I would share it with you.

Its Botanic name: Brunfelsia australis. 

An evergreen shrub which grows slowly to around 2-4m (6 -12′) tall and 2m (6′) wide. The foliage is dense and medium green in colour. The young leaves are often purplish in cool weather. The flowers are very sweetly perfumed and appear from September to late November. When they first open they are a violet colour, fading to lavender blue and then white, with the three colours present on the bush at the same time.

This shot was taken at Mount Stewart Lake, N.Ireland and I am using it for my RFELCTION photograph.

WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY

These photographs were taken across the road from where I live and I was hoping that the Jabiru were present, however no chance.  I was just starting the photograph the birds where a large black bird of prey lifted all the birds (perhaps a Black Kite) and that was the end of my photographing them!

I had a quick visit to Centenary Lakes in Cairns. There was not a single bird on the lake however there were beautiful Water Lillies blooming.  Lots more photographs to follow during the next 2 weeks.

WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY

These shots were taken in the small pond across the road from where I live.  As I was just starting to photograph them, a large black bird of Prey cam and they all lifted to the overhead wires and trees.  There were Egret and Straw necked Ibis.
