FRIDAY'S HUNT and WEEKEND REFLECTIONS - Costa Rica

Time to join Friday’s Hunt and Weekend Reflections and this week’s theme is J, Car and Outside.  Below is a photograph taken from my balcony at the  hotel I spent 2 days before the others arrived.  Obviously the image is of the OUTSIDE countryside (all images are taken OUTSIDE) and in fact can you see a CAR or two parked at the hotel entrance? While i was sitting there, a parade passed by and a JAZZ band was playing in the back of a truck.

I have no idea what it was all about and this was not the flag of Cosa Rica.

The grounds in the hotel were huge with at least 100 bird species, JUST wonderful gardens with flowering plants and trees.  To fit in with J I give you J for JAGGED and this unusual tree below certainly was covered with JAGGED thorns.  There were several ponds in the gardens and the last shot shows a REFLECTION on one of them.

Many thanks for visiting and also for leaving comments.

  1. Oh my gosh, this TREE! The thorns look a bit like Hershey's Kisses, don't they? But really, I have never seen anything like it! And the trunk and branches are green! You had a beautiful view from your balcony.

  3. Not a tree for tree-huggers. Most interesting, beautifully caught-- as usual.

  4. Yikes! That tree will likely not be climbed on by most any critter.

  7. How wonderful that you are/were in Costa Rica. Fun to see all these images. I don't recognize the flag. The tree I believe I saw in a botanical garden in Hawaii. It is prehistoric looking.

  8. This is a wonderful reflection, Margaret. I do like that thorny tree, but I'll never remember it's name. Just call it a thorn tree. Was that truck a 'Ute' (pickup rear, car in front)?

  10. Oh my goodness, that tree looks wicked. How fun to have a band in a truck. Love the view from the hotel. Thanks so much for joining Friday's Hunt. Hope you have a great rest of the week!

  11. Wow, that tree would be really painful to encounter. I am so clumsy - I tend to stumble and fall into things, so I am sure it would 'get' me! The view from the hotel is lovely! Sorry to be so late visiting!
