Friday's Hunt and Weekend Reflections

Once again it is time for Friday’s Hunt and Weekend Reflections and this week the word prompts are the letter B, Favourite and Patriotic.

The first two images were taken at Mount Stewart Gardens and I love the fallen BLOSSOM underneath the BRANCHES of this tree.

This is a BEAUTIFUL flower head of tiny BLOSSOMS with BEES on it.
Echium canadicans.

Now these three images are taken from my archives from when I was a Guest Bird Leacturer on the BRAEMAR Cruise BOAT when we were celebrating all things BRITISH

Most guests made an effort and of course we sported the red, white and BLUE colours of the BRITISH flag and this man had found a PATROTIC Dicky BOW.

Recently I took my bird group along BANGOR PIER to see the BLACK Guillemots that nest in the pier walls.
These two are great BUDDIES.

The pair are looking out of their nest hole
however the actual nest is 3 feet into the wall.

This BIRD is showing us his open BEAK with his red mouth and BEADY eye.

Then we walked along to the nearby Long Hole where I photographed this row of BUILDINGS and a lot of them are BED and BREAKFAST properties.  You can see some BLUE painted houses and if you are very clever see the BUOYS and BLACK headed gull BIRD in the BEAUTIFUL reflections in the water.

I hope you enjoyed my take on the word prompts this week.

Back to the Great Slatee Island birds tomorrow.

A very happy weekend to eveyone and thanks for your visit.

Also many thanks to all who leave comments.
I appreciate them all very much.

  2. One of your most beautiful posts! I love the buildings reflection. Just that tree trunk alone would be a great picture, but with the petals under it, it is gorgeous!! Beautiful!! And the tall blue flower is so pretty; I see the fuzzy yellow and black bee on it! You are so cute in that outfit!

  19. Love your pictures, Margaret. I also have a PATROTIC Dicky BOW. Our British friends whom we met On a 2010 Baltic cruise gave it to me during one of our annual visits. We were at their home this year in June up north of London at Northampton.
Tho blossoms laying under the old tree is a really nice, pretty picture.

  21. Wonderful posts Margaret, I love looking at your pictures of the birds. What fun to get out there and "mingle" with them. The echium flower is quite lovely...I love that color blue, because it is almost a lavender, and I am a "Purple girl".
