THROUGH MY LENS and SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY

These photographs hopefully illustrate the word prompts we were given last week.  It was a busy week as I spent all day as an Extra on a film drama, took a group on a tour of the BBC and another day meet a friend to go to St George's Market in Belfast where most of these images were taken.

1. Cool
I thought both the cow and these sweat short were really cool although I imagine some of you do not understand what is written on them as it is Northern Ireland speak!

2. Media

I captured this man having a coffee and reading his newspaper and below is one of the studio where BBC Radio Ulster is broadcast from.

3. Something New

These clothes were beautifully designed and made.
I thought they looked really special looking.

4. Scarf
The shot above is of me in my 1991 costume as an Extra.
The other day, I was walking along the road thinking, I need another scarf shot when I noticed this pretty young girl walking towards me and thought her hat and scarf were beautiful.  So I stopped and asked her could I take a photograph.  Lindsey agreed, so thanks for helping me out.

5. Starts with C
Back at the markets where there were numerous CONDIMENTS on sale.
There was a marvellous selection of fish and these are CRABS below. Notice the bubbles in the shot.  The fishmonger told me, the crab was blowing me kisses!

A very short video of Lobster and Crabs at St George Market.

Now I  hope you enjoyed seeing my selection this week.

  12. These are wonderful selections, Margaret! Love the scarf and jacket! Looks so pretty. And I laughed at the shirts. I'm assuming that 'Wind Your Neck In,' is translated as 'Quit Gawking!' ??? Gave me a chuckle.

    1. No that is not what it means. the most polite way I can put it is "someone getting very cocky and needing to be told to calm down"

  13. Great photos Margaret showing how cultured & sophisticated we are in Norn Iron! I'm sure there was a sweatshirt saying Quare Craic! It suits your post! I need to buy the one saying Real Men drive tractors for my brother!

  14. Wonderful Scavenger Hunt photos. Loved the EEJUT T's...I found it fun hearing that word in Ireland when we visited. We use it some in the American South too! I'm sure it was brought over from Ireland with many settlers. Beautiful scarf and hat...sweet of the girl to model for you!

  17. What does 'buck eejit' mean? I get the second word is 'idiot' but 'buck'?!?!?

    1. Hi Stuart The words go together or you can use eejit on its own but both mean the same thing.
Idiot, nitwit, dolt, moron or thicko Often used affectionately. I soppose buck is used like a 'young buck'

  22. Hey! Thanks for dropping by my blog. I love your 1991 costume. The scarf really adds to it. What was it like being an extra? I bet it was fun.
The shot of the man reading his newspaper is really great! Around here, you don't see too many people reading paper copies of the paper, and I like that people still read a paper copy.
That cow really does look cool.
