GOOD FENCES - Lifupa Conservation Lodge (Part 7)

On the lodge site there is an observation room overlooking the lake and a bar and restaurant below it at the Lifupa Conservation Lodge in Malawi.  These are images I shot from there and there was always animals and birds to see from it.

Oh I hear you saying, another ‘out of the box’ fence post.  well in these lodges, NONE of the animals are fenced in but WE do need the protection.

That’s me, ever watchful to see what is on the lake.

Annika and Daniel were quite happy up there as there was a good variety of games to play and of course Judith, their Mum was always on hand to read a story.

I hope you enjoyed this post and this lodge is worth checking out HERE.

I am linking with GOOD FENCES.

Thanks for you visit and also to all those who leave comments.

  1. What a wonderful place.
Is it wrong of me to think it is a good thing that we, rather than the animals, need the protection?

  2. Now that's what I call a hide. Good views all around and comfy chairs too. Good point about keeping the animals at bay Margaret. Who wants to come too close to a Leopard?

  11. Stopping in for a visit from Good Fences. That looks to be a fantastic place for bird watching. I love all your bird pictures, but I especially love the hooded crow. I've not heard of them before now. Very handsome!

  14. Useful and attractive fences, but my favourite shot is the one of the roof structures. Love the geometry and the colours.

  17. How lucky you experienced that....I lived in Africa for 20 odd years and didn't do nearly enough of that kind of thing...certainly not in my adult years anyway. My husband and I were going to go back to Africa (where we met) for our 25th wedding anniversary and do a Safari but he couldn't get time off work....Well 30 is coming up next year....fingers crossed!

I am fascinated by the supports for the thatched roof in the 2nd photo.
    Have a Beautiful Day, Margaret!
    Peace :)
