WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY -Birds on the Isle of Wight

As I did not see any birds while I was at the Car Rally recently, I decided today I would show you photographs that a man, Martin Blackmore sent me.   I meet him at a hide at Hersey Nature Reserve on the Isle of Wight earlier this year.

Great Egret

Heron and Little Egret

                                                      Mute Swans with two cygnets.

Little Grebe

Lapwing

                                                                             Swallows

Common Sandpiper

Black tailed Godwit

Black tailed Godwit with Greenshank.

Snipe

Many thanks to Martin for giving me permission to share them with you.

I hope you enjoyed this post and tomorrow I will be back to showing you some more Classic cars from the recent rally I attended.

I am linking this post with WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY.

THANKS FOR VISITING AND ALSO TO THOSE WHO LEAVE COMMENTS.

  12. I've never heard of lapwing. What a beautiful bird! In my country, swallows are the bringers of the Spring and they are my absolute favorite, right up there with hummingbirds (which we don't have and I'm thrilled that they now come to my window here in the US). Beautiful images, Margaret!

Amazingly, I've seen all these exact same species in Hokkaido this year despite being (almost) the other side of the world.
