Tory Island - Birds ( Part 17)

As I said yesterday, I am showing you more birds  today. The first one is the Wheatear and these are numerous on Tory Island.  The second is the Sedge Warbler which was very difficult to photograph as it was deep in the reeds.  You will see both on the video.

There is a short video, CLICK HERE if it does not appear below.

The building in the background was a studio where the English portrait and landscape artist Derek Hill painted.
CLCIK HERE for the post I have mentioned him before with more information.

I know neither shots of these two birds were great
but I was glad I had seen them both.

Many thanks for your visit and also to all those who leave comments.

  3. I find it hard to get past the puffin on your current header. Each time I visit I stop and marvel at it.
I really enjoy seeing birds which are alien to me and which I will probably never see for myself. Thank you.

    1. HI Sue I have to say I also am pleased with the Puffin. it was taken when I visited another island about 5 weeks ago and it was amazing. Now I took over 2500 photos and about 87 video clips in 2 days!!! Other than sorting out one shot for my header, I have not started sorting them out and it will be weeks until all the videos are upleaded adn then I have to edit them.I will be going back to Malawi for Christmas and I hope by then I might have them all sorted and I hope to make scheduled posts while I am away as I will not be able to do much blogging or commenting and it will have something for people to see. Now that is the plan but will it ever come together. We shall see.

  4. I think the photos and videos are wonderful. They are so active, not easy to focus on them. You did a great job.

  9. A lovely post - its always so hard to get photos of Reed and Sedge Warblers with all the reeds in the way causing problems with the camera's autofocus. Really enjoying your posts on this island.
