Hersery Nature Reserve, Isle of Wight

I visited Hersey Nature Reserve a few days ago and these are ALL the birds I saw there.  I am sorry they are not good quality due to distance and lighting.  These new building and are Beach huts just beside the entrance of the Reserve.  Come with me as we walk around this small Reserve.

Tree is full blossom.

Goldcrest

Greenshank

Canada Geese

Black headed Gull

Jackdaw

Mute Swan

Teal

Coot

Chiffchaff

We have come near to the end of our walk and we can see the lovely beach huts coming into view again.

Thank you for coming along with me.

Many thanks for leaving comments on this post.

  1. Great photos and very interesting to see what a Ramsar site is like over your way. I guess that when the migratory birds are all around or passing through it would get rather busy.
Sorry my comment is late - we had a very big storm yesterday that knocked out my internet connection for more than 24 hours.

  13. Well done on getting the Goldcrest probably I think one of the hardest to photograph due to their fidgety nature. It looks great, though I am not sure if the new beach huts I prefer the old fashion style.

  16. What beautiful photos, Margaret! And I love the beach hut photos. I'm a big fan of repetition in a photo. It really appeals to me.

  17. I love the black headed gull, and the row of houses seen through the reeds, those shots are so pretty! I also enjoyed the little bird taking off with his wings high up in the air. Gosh that Goldcrest looks like a Goldfinch!

  22. Lovely post. I couldn't help but think that those beach houses coming into view in the distance reminded me of birdhouses.

  23. Do people stay in the huts? Great shot of the bird alighting from its perch.

  24. protecting these birds is so important but that makes it difficult to get good images!!! i wondered about the huts as well. are they just there for viewing or can you stay overnight in them????
