WILD BIRD WEDNSEDAY - FISH EAGLE

There are a NUMBER of images in  this post, as well as a video of the sub adult  as well as an adult FISH EAGLE which are all taken as I walked along the road at Montfort Cottages, Malawi.

I wanted to show you the habitat of the rocks and large trees in this area.

This is the second Eagle I found and you will see how close it was to the first one on the video although it kept hiding from me!

I wonder was this their nest?

While I was trying to photograph both the sub adult Fish Eagles, an adult Fish Eagle flew over.  You will see all on this video below and the noises are the Baboons.

CLICK HERE if it does not appear below.

I hope you enjoyed this post.  This is the first I ever saw of the Fish Eagle and I was pleased. On Saturday Critters, I hope to post about another time I came across adult Fish Eagles.

I am linking this post with WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY.

Thank you for visiting and also to those who leave comments.

  1. Oh wow, Margaret, the iconic sound of Africa. The African Fish Eagle. That sounds like the female. Great, great shots of the sub Fish Eagle posing and adult Fish eagle in flight. I find when they're young, they're a lot less skittish and you manage to get lots of photos. Thanks for sharing! Jo

  13. Huge and impressive! He seems to be HUGE! Why are his wings open like that, is he sunning himself? I do not think there are any fFsh Eagles in this country. But we do have our own fisher called the Osprey. He is white and a bit smaller, but it is wonderful to see him swoop down over the water and grab a fish. Your sky is beautiful as well, plus I love those rocks!

My compliments on your video skills too... especially tracking the eagle in flight, you did a tremendous job - that's such a hard thing to do.
