WEEKEND REFLECTIONS - CASTLE ESPIE WWT

I have shown you shots from Castle Espie before but when I returned from Africa I called in to the wetland again on my way back from my old caravan.  These are a few shots I took that day.

Chloe Wigeon

How about that view as your sip your cappuccino?

White faced Whistling Ducks

Gadwell

Carolina or Wood Duck Male above, female below.

Collared Dove

Red breasted Goose

Black necked Swan juvenile.  This is the first one I have ever seen one.

Proud Dad

On my way home I passed this house with beautiful Virgina Creeper covering the wall and if you look really closely there is a reflection in the top right window!!!

No reflection here but isn’t this foliage a wonderful colour?

Finally I meet these cows who really struggled passing my car even through the farmer has passed me on his bike but at least I got a ’uninteresting’ reflection of my car in the wing mirror.

I am linking this post with WEEKEND REFLECTIONS

I hope you enjoyed this post

Thank you for visiting.

Many thanks for all your comments.

  1. It wasn't until I visited Ireland that I'd see Virginia Creeper on homes it was so different from home I fantasized about having one covering a house one day and those Whistlers are quite different than Teresa's crew as lovely though, again your shots are breathtaking!

  4. My husband would love the vine climbing the home's exterior. He loves that.
I think your reflections are fantastic. We, here in America, have a duck called a Gadwall that is similar to your gadwell.

Love the portrait of the 'proud papa'!!

  6. What spendid water fowl. Who'd guess there were so many different ducks. When I was young my grandparents had white ducks that we got eggs (white eggs) from. I can't remember when I realized they came in many different colors. They never cease to amaze me. Wonderful photographs Margaret.
