Sunday Thought

Pride goes before destruction and haughtiness
and before a fall.

Pride ends in destruction; humility ends in honor.

  1. That is a mess. They must have been very proud bananas.

    1. HI Anni This was 3 years ago and I stayed there 2 months and in that time I was amazed how things were already recovering but it took about 6-12 months before they had bananas and so they were EXTREMELY expensive in the shops, about £1 each, needless to say we did not buy many at all.

    2. I can see they are already growing back in the 2nd picture.

  3. Wow, I can't figure out what size these banana plants or trees are. They look short but I figure they must be quite tall when full grown. It's nice to see the new growth in your second photo.

  5. So good to see the After pictures. How devastating that cyclone must have been for the farmers and the whole area. Glad it is bouncing back some,

  6. Margaret, I have quoted this verse to elderly relatives when they refuse to use walking aids because of pride or misguided determination.
Bananas are my fav fruit! How hard on the farmers. Hope they had crop insurance. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, Janice.

  7. That is so sad. I wondered what had happened. Nature can be furious in its power.

  8. Mother Nature can be so cruel. I hate it especially when the big shade trees get blown down after a tornado or storm... It takes SO many years for them to get that large.... BUT--it happens, and we all just have to put up with it. Sorry about the bananas --but at least, they can/will come back... Tis Life --even though it is upsetting.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  14. It is always amazing how the earth recovers from these things. Like Mount St. Helens did, much, much faster than they were predicting.
