Wading birds along the Bangor coast

I saw these 4 waders as I walked from Bangor pier along Seacliffe Road.  I have written and given information about them before so I will tell you their names, however I will let you see if you can ID them yourselves.

Purple Sandpiper, Turnstone, Ringed Plover and Dunlin.

There is a short video at the end and perhaps a clue in it?

On parade and standing to atten.......tion!

Well now did you get on?  Need any help on ID?

You can access the video at

If there is a black space below, click it and the video will appear.

Thank you for visiting.

Many thanks for comment on any of my posts.

  1. Hi Margaret; you seem to have them reasonably close; great clear shots. I was down the coast today but haven't downloaded pics, but the shore-birds were a long way away. Beautiful birds you saw

  11. here are the details for printing your blog. blogger sends me an email, every so often, offering 15% discount during a certain period.

i always click on that email to start, printing is very easy. i give them the dates i want to print and they lay the whole thing out for you. you do get a few choices. page breaks are very important and i don't reccommend the "page saver" option. if you do that, everything runs together and most of your entries are split up. if you do this and have any further questions, email me, it's no problem at all.

    here is the site: http://sharedbook.com/

in the center of the page it says, blog2print, use can click there. next time they send me an email, with the 15% discount, i will send it to you, it does make a big difference!! xo

  18. Some really nice shots of the waders, Margaret. I'm not too good on waders as you can't get much further from the sea in England than I am. The Purple Sands are beautiful - I've never seen one! I'm also not used to seeing Dunlin without their black belly patch. SO MANY waders, too!!!

  19. Great photos of all those smaller shorebirds. The only ones we see often out here are the Turnstones. The sea makes a very beautiful background.
