Swan Lake Ryde, I.O.W.

Swan Lake is a lovely lake in the centre of Ryde, I.O.W. just opposite the beach and there is always lots of activity at the lake.  I passed it several times during me stay and always stopped to see what was going on.  The Black Swan seemed to be paired up with a Mute Swan and mostly they were always together.  I think you are going to know all these birds today, so perhaps it is time for a cuppa, put the post into slide mode, sit back and enjoy.  It finishes with a video.

Mute Swans, Black Swan, Mallard and Black headed Gulls

Cygnets

Male Pochard and female Mallard

Messed up Goose!

Black headed Gull

I hope you enjoyed see the birds in Swan Lake.

Many thanks for visiting and to those who left comments on any of my posts.

  1. you might wonder for a moment, how come just the lone black swan? What made it separate from the other black swans, or they from it? A true 'black and white' photo :)

  9. Great photos of these beautiful birds! There was a Black Swan in my area, who was hanging around with the Mute Swans. They don't belong here, so an animal rescue group was trying to capture it, but I don't know if they ever did. As Spring approaches, I'll be out looking for him here again. (The reservoir is frozen over now, so the Swans are no longer there.)
