Birds at Yarmouth, I.O.W.

This post is from Yarmouth at the end of Eileen and my first day's birding together.  Yarmouth is a town ,port and civil parish in the western part of the Isle of Wight, off the southern coast of mainland England.  The town is named for its location at the mouth of the small Western Yar river.  The light as fading so the photos are not as well lite.  There will be a short video at the end.

  2. Love that swan at the beginning and the video was lovely too.....made me feel a bit queasy panning across but that's my own fault for eating a large Danish at 10.00am! Most unhealthy!

  6. This is all so incredible. Of course, being that there are no swans here in South Texas, I especially enjoyed viewing those magnificent, elegant swan images Margaret.

    Excellent.

  7. Oh Margaret, what a lovely series. Your Brent Geese are very different than our Canadian Geese ... shorter necks and darker color. I would have probably thought they were ducks if I had spotted them. The others though are the same as we have and your pictures are so clear. I love the Mute Swan ... they are under siege in Wisconsin (which is right next door to me). The are killing them because they aren't native ... I makes me angry just thinking about it. People can be so ignorant. Anyway, I enjoyed this post as I do all of your others.

  9. The swan images are lovely. The reflections were so sharp that my eyes took a bit to understand what they were seeing. Great series.

  17. it is strange how close you can get. No matter what equipment I carry I never got a shot like that of a teal.

  18. Your first photo of the mute swan is exquisite, but in all honesty I like all of these photos. If you were in a low light setting, you did very well to get all of these.
